Tri Fruit Jam

Turning juicy fresh fruits to a sweet jam gives a lot of pleasure. I spent this afternoon in the kitchen making this wonderful jam and it turned it wonderful. The whole house smelled with fruity goodness. You can not only spread it on a toasted bread but also on biscuits, rotis, etc.

  • Apple – 4
  • Orange – 4
  • Pomegranate – 1
  • Sugar – 2 cups
  • Lemon juice – 1 tbsp

Method of Preparation:

Wash the fruits well. Peal the skin of the apple and cut them into small pieces and grind it immediately to a smooth paste. Peal the orange and grind it to a paste. Peal the skin of the pomegranate and remove the seeds. Keep it aside.

Mix the fruit paste. Take thick bottomed vessel add sugar pour water until the sugar sink. Allow it to boil until sugar melts and continue to boil it for 2 minutes. Add the fruit paste. Mix well and allow to boil over medium heat.

After 15 minutes reduce the heat to low flame and cover it with a splatter to avoid the mess sprinkling around the vessel. Keep stirring often.

When it starts thickening add the pomegranate seeds and lemon juice and mix well. Allow it boil until it thickens and turn off the stove.

If you don’t want seeds in your jam then grind the pomegranate, filter it and use the juice.

You will get a beautiful and vibrant coloured jam. Allow it to cool and preserve it in an air tight container.

Yield: 450 grams
