It is summer time and what can be more apt for this season other than yogurt. It is a natural coolant and good for stomach.
Plantain Stem is rich in fiber and it has a lot of medicinal qualities. It has antifungal, antibacterial and digestive aiding properties. It is good for kidney stone, weight loss, diabetes, acidity, etc. Today I have made raitha or pachadi with plantain stem along with onion. You can serve it with pulao, roti, puliyothara, lemon rice, tomato rice etc.
- Chopped onion – ½ cup
- Chopped plaintain stem – ½ cup
- Yogurt or Curd – ½ cup
- Small green chilies – 2
- Chopped Coriander leaves – 1 tbsp
- Curry leaves – 6
- Oil – 1/4 tsp
- Mustard seeds – ½ tsp
- Salt to taste
Method of Preparation:
Add the chopped onion, coriander leaves, curry leaves, slit green chilies and salt. Heat a small pan with oil and add mustard seeds. Allow it to splutter and turn off the stove. Add this tempering to the raitha and mix well. Raitha is ready to serve.
